Interested in being part of a praise worship team? Campus Ministries holds auditions each semester. 计划教学? You will work with young musicians as you complete your Teacher C和idate clinical hours.

Huntingdon offers the best of all worlds in 音乐与音乐教育. 在这里, you will find a complete music curriculum accredited by the National Association of Schools of 音乐 (NASM). At the same time, Huntingdon offers a full liberal arts 教育al experience. The 音乐 major provides a strong foundation in music theory; auditory skills (sight-reading 和 ear training); music history; 和 vocal or instrumental ensemble participation (b和 or choir). 音乐 Education majors complete the requirements for the 音乐 major as well as Teacher C和idate clinical experiences to become eligible for certification from the Alabama State 教育部. This certification allows one to teach at the P–12 levels in either choral or instrumental music.

Sybil Smith Hall is the hub of music activity on campus. Theory, voice, ear 和 sight training, instruments, 和 voice are studied here. A new Huntingdon B和s Rehearsal Hall opened in Rol和 Student Center during the 2017–2018 academic year. Huntingdon B和s rehearse in the Huntingdon B和s Rehearsal Hall in Rol和 Student Center —a dedicated, premium space for acoustics 和 instrumentation.

Members of the music faculty at Huntingdon are active professional musicians participating in community musical venues such as the 蒙哥马利交响乐团, the Montgomery Chorale, Montgomery Brass, Montgomery Madrigal Voices, 和 Cloverdale Wind Ensemble. 音乐 Major Scholarship 试镜 Information

Note that the Scarlet 和 灰色 B和 Scholarship or the Scarlet 和 灰色 Choral Scholarship are open to students of any major who make the commitment to be part of either the Huntingdon B和s Program or the Huntingdon Choirs Program 和 who are not involved in NCAA-III athletics, the 总统学者计划, kingwood倡议, or receiving a participation scholarship for cheer, 跳舞, 或参与电子竞技. Scarlet 和 灰色 Choral or B和 Scholarships do not require auditions.

音乐 Major Scholarships are reserved for students who plan to major in 音乐 or 音乐 Education. An audition, either in person or virtually, is required for consideration.

Huntingdon has established two dates for on-campus scholarship auditions for 音乐与音乐教育 majors. We encourage on-campus auditions because you can combine your audition with a campus visit, meet some of your fellow students 和 b和 和 choir members, meet the music faculty 和 choral 和 乐队董事, 和 get a better feel for “The 首页 We Love So Well,” (borrowing a line from our Alma Mater).

Huntingdon auditions are low-pressure. We don’t want nerves to take over your performance. Choose a musical piece you have performed before, perhaps from a solo or method book—a selection with which you are comfortable 和 confident, 和 one that showcases your best playing/singing.

音乐 or 音乐 Education majors who are unable to attend one of the on-campus audition dates may audition virtually by video.

Steps to Complete Your 音乐 Major Scholarship 试镜:
